Per Risvang
Chair

Per is chair of the Aarhus Sailing Club as well as chair of Sailing Aarhus, the organizing body of the 2008 Youth Worlds. Sailing Aarhus is a joint venture of the five major sailing clubs in Århus representing more than 2.800 members.
Per is a long time dinghy and keel boat racer winning multiple national championships in Pirate Class and latest a national championship in Spaekhukker keelboat class. When not racing or persuing one of his many volounteer duties, Per enjoy croising in either his H-Boat or his beatifull, self build Molich 10 metres.

   
 

Thomas Capitani Nielsen

Thomas is the event director of Sailing Aarhus, the organizers of the 2008 VOLVO Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship and holds a business diploma in marketing and communication.
Thomas has been an active sailor since his early teen years with competitive experience mainly in multihulls like the Hobie 16, Hobie Tiger and Dart 18 where he won several international regattas and Danish campionships as well as finishing second in the Italian Dart 18 nationals when living in Italy for some years. Today, he mainly races keel boats as well as he is enjoying cruising in his X-99.
His volunteer activities include service on the board of the Århus Sailing School, commodore of the Hobie Cat Fleet 907 as well as being chair of the Danish Marketing Association. Thomas speaks Danish, Italian, German and English.
             

   
Tiny Maerschalk

Tiny Maerschalk

Tiny's main responsibility is recruiting, managing and motivating the volunteers during the championship. She also supervises catering and all the social events. She holds a degree in interpreting and social work.
She has years of experience organizing social and cultural events for exchange students at the University of Aarhus, where she worked with large groups of volunteers.
Tiny took up sailing 7 years ago and is a keen H-boat sailor. She is an instructor and board member of the Århus Sailing School and participates in local and national regattas.
Tiny speaks Danish, English and Dutch fluently. She also speaks French.
